Improving the DevOps Process for Mobile App Developers

Development teams—perhaps especially mobile development teams—have heavily invested in systems to automate their processes and accelerate the delivery of mobile apps. From build, test and release to tracking and monitoring, the mobile DevOps team depends on systems like Fastlane, Bitrise, Jenkins, Azure Pipelines and GitLab—and really, that list just scratches the surface. The mobile app […]

Implementing Data-Driven DevSecOps

Right now, the way DevSecOps is typically implemented doesn’t fit with the rapid and agile DevOps CI/CD pipeline at all. It’s like applying 19th-century firefighting methods to a modern forest fire. Back then, firefighters employed a “bucket brigade,” where they would form a queue and pass buckets from one hand to another to put out a […]

Stopping Mobile Fraud With Automation and DevSecOps

Mobile fraud is a multibillion-dollar problem that’s only getting worse. One study showed that mobile click fraud alone rose 64% during the first few months of the COVID-19 pandemic. Transform Mobile DevOps into Mobile DevSecOps

Mobile developers are mostly focused on adding new features and functionality to their apps. Security features—such as RASP protection, obfuscation, encryption, jailbreak/root prevention and MiTM prevention—are usually addressed at the end of the development cycle if they are addressed at all. Unfortunately, most apps ship with significant vulnerabilities. One internal app test showed that most […]

Redefining Continuous Security for DevSecOps

In the mobile app development world, security often takes a backseat to developing features and delivering the app. In fact, the 2021 Verizon Mobile Security Index found that 45% of organizations sacrificed mobile security in order to “get the job done.” It really shouldn’t come as a surprise. Certainly, it seems counterintuitive that mobile app […]

COVID-19, the New Normal and the Indisputable Importance of Mobile App Security

As the United States emerges from COVID-19 lockdown, it’s not back to business as usual. COVID-19 remains a very serious risk, and until a vaccine or treatment arrives, we will all need to remain vigilant. Further, it’s also certain that the new normal post-COVID-19 world represents a fundamental transformation in how businesses operate, with mobile […]

Why Aren’t Enterprises Developing More Mobile Apps?

We live in a mobile age, and enterprise IT leaders recognize it. But even though 64.5% of enterprises say that mobility is a top IT priority, most won’t deploy more than five mobile apps this year, according to a December study from Enterprise Mobility Forum. That’s a very small number, especially considering that large organizations […]
